History
Grinnell Leadership was founded by Dr. John Grinnell in order to provide the highest quality creative leadership and organizational development consulting services to an array of businesses, industries, governmental organizations, educational institutions, and individuals. Dr. Grinnell and his team focus on understanding our clients' needs and customizing our services to their business situation and needs. Our goal is to establish and maintain long-term relationships based on performance. We are a small consulting firm, and our clients receive direct service from our principal consultants.
Vision
People are the bedrock of an organization. People's ideas, thoughts, dedication, cooperation, and actions are the very heart and soul of the organization. Leadership is the force that creates organization. Without leadership, there can be no organization, and without leadership, an organization, no matter how well conceived, cannot sustain itself. The better the leadership, the better the organization -- plain and simple.
Our definition of leadership reveals our philosophy. Leadership is responsibility with integrity, perspective, and courage. Wise perspective is difficult to achieve, and maintaining perspective in the face of adversity is even more difficult. Courage is choosing to face the inevitable challenges associated with leadership while accomplishing your goals, despite the fear of uncertain success. Integrity is critical to building trust, and strengthening relationships, which is required to get the job done for the long term.
In order to enhance performance, people must be aware and be responsible. We help you and others in your organization do just that.
The Future
Leadership development is a journey. It cannot be solved or acquired in a week or in one consulting session. Grinnell Leadership is dedicated to working with individuals and organizations to hone their leadership skills, which will add to their overall leadership development over time. By working with Grinnell Leadership, the members of your team will be able to view reality more clearly, recognize their own impact on the organization, for better or worse, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and work more effectively with others on the team. The organization is the box. It is a promise that people create and sustain first with their minds, then with their behavior.
